First day of School!!!

This year Grace will be in the 4th grade!! Isaac starts 2nd, Faith 1st and Hope will go to preschool. 

This summer really flew by especially August. We spent the whole month sick. We all go sick starting July 30 with cryptosporidium and then Hope got sick Aug 4th and she just got out of the hospital on August 19th. Long scary days of not knowing how to help her, what to do for her and who to turn to for help. Her symptoms were lethargy, stomach cramps, diarhea, vomiting and one day I swear she was a violent drunk. She was so agitated by everything but I think her head was pounding from the dehydration. She was not able to walk for 2 weeks and barely hold her head up. The day we transferred to Albuquerque she would not even swallow. She would hold her spit in her mouth. The doctors are always scared to deal with her anyway cause they have no experience with people with short gut that arent on medical assistance for fluids and TPN. I believe she got the cryptosporidium but also bacterial overgrowth and the combination of vomiting and diarhea just depleted her body of fluids. She was dehydrated and wasn’t able to drink or eat. We gave her flagyl and lotrimil. The lotrimil finally stopped her bowels from working altogether. They didn’t work for about 2 days and then on Tuesday the 16th she woke up hungry. She gained 2lbs from eating and being on a high volume of IV fluids. After we took her off the IV fluids on Wednesday the 17th she was extremely dizzy and wasn’t wanting to drink anything yet. We decided just to wait it out and see if she would start drinking and eating again. By Friday morning she was feeling somewhat better and the doctor suggested we leave and take her some place fun. We left and went to the Aquarium to look at the fishys. She had lots of fun and was very happy to be out of the hospital by Saturday morning she decided she better drink lots of fluids so she didn’t have to go back to the hospital!

This morning she was ready to go to preschool. She made it 2 hours then ready to come home and nap.
